Karakoram highway is open for traffic all year. So you can use Karakoram highway to reach Hunza Valley. There are chances of landslide but the Karakoram highway department is reliable and they will clear the road in a few hours. There is another route to reach Hunza Valley i.e. Naran/Kaghan passing through Babusar Top. But in winter this route is not accessible due to heavy snowfall. Hunza Valley Attractions In Winter Season
Most of the attractions are closed due to snowfall. One of the most favorite destinations in Hunza Valley is Attabad lake but in the winter season, this lake is also frozen. The rush lake is also one of the beautiful lakes of Hunza valley but unfortunately, it is also not possible to reach Rush Lake in winter.
Borith lake and Shimshal lake are also frozen and there is nothing to do over there. In summer season Naltar Valley is a very beautiful and easy reach but in winter Naltar Valley is also not accessible.
Khunjrab Pass is also closed but we are talking about border crossing. You can go towards Khunjrab Pass until you can there is no restriction on that. In fact, there are thousands of people who come to visit Hunza Valley in winter and go toward Khunjrab Pass. You can’t really go to the border crossing because of its altitude and weather.
Pakistani’s love snowfall because there are only a few areas where its snowfall. So people travel in winter to see the snowfall.
